Maths and you

Students have a positive and better view of Maths : Students think that Maths are interesting (63%) as they are their favorite subject (56%). They think Maths are useful outside school (54%) and for their future (77%). They understood that after leaving school, Maths will be usefull (79%).

Only 11% of them don’t like Maths and 13% consider Maths are boring.

Maths and culture

Their knowledge about Maths environment has clearly increased : they are now 56% able to give the name of a living mathematician and from 45 to 70% to give the name of a book/movie/TV show about Maths. 51% know the name of a Maths magazine up to 58% of a Maths website !

Before, they almost couldn’t quote any European movie. After all the activities they made and all the presentations thay had, they are now able to quote tens of museum with Maths exhibitions (36%), examples of Maths in art (52%), nature (47%) and architecture (45%). It’s a very significant result !

International

European feelings

Students feel much more part of Europe than before the project (53,1% totally agree compared to 34% before) and really appreciate the different cultures in Europe (almost 60% againt 34% before). Thus, they now stronghly agree with the idea of travelling abroad (78%).
